Benny Bing

Benny Bing is an artist based in Toronto whose work focusses on the Black females and beauty.

In this episode of the podcast he talks about how he became an artist, his earlier shows, selling directly at art fairs in Toronto, and his current exhibition, Bloom. Bloom builds on his previous collections, and was scheduled to be a physical event until quarantine and Covid-19 scuppered his plans. Bloom is available to see as a virtual exhibition here

The show celebrates the power of the Black female form, and reinforces ideas about individuality and self-love. This collection also represents a career evolution for Benny, who is moving away from his signature portrait style and beginning to explore and incorporate intricate, vibrant details, backgrounds and other elements into his work.
