Chloe McCarrick - A Year in Art Fairs

In this episode Chloe McCarrick talks about her art career to date and how she sold at art markets and pop ups to save towards her first art fair in 2019.
She went on to do several fairs after her initial success and was invited to show at the Salon des Beaux Art in Paris.

Chloe works with cyanotype, a method of alternative photography that allows replicating images with an analogue process. The subjects of her work are inspiring women from history including Mary Shelley, Marie Curie and Amelia Earhart amongst others. The portraits are the basis of a collage process following intensive research and studying the lives and contributions of the women figures. To this she often adds metallic leaf such as zinc, copper or gold leaf.

Chloe previously worked as a lecturer and continues her love of sharing education through the workshops she runs on a regular basis. They take place at her studio or venues that bring her in to teach how to make cyanotypes. Visit her website below for details.

In this podcast we talk about her love of meeting people and growing her audience in person, being a regular at pop ups in London and how art fairs brought her a new fan base for her larger works.
