Haus of Lucy

Lucy Bryant is the creative mind behind Haus of Lucy reconfiguring ceramic sculptures with contemporary references. She also produces prints and original works, overlaying traditional landscape paintings with news banners or icons of contemporary consumerism.

Six things I learned from Lucy

  1. She sources her original items from charity shops and has friends, family and online friends sending her items to turn into new art works.

  2. Her plate for the engagement of Prince Harry to Meghan Markle featured Ed Sheeran and it was an intentional joke which was misunderstood by many, taking the story viral.

  3. In order to fulfil the orders of the plate after it appeared in the media meant Lucy had to hire a packaging firm to help with the work.

  4. Her Gemma Collins plate was gifted by a buyer to Alan Carr who famously attended Jonathan Ross’s halloween party dressed as Gemma Collins

  5. She learned how to use polymer clay by spending hours watching youtube tutorials

  6. She was picked up by her first gallery when they saw her work at Time Inc in the archives where her work was displayed as an example of how the images could be used.
