Lauren Baker
I visited the studio of the lovely Lauren Baker and we sat down to record an episode talking about her journey into the art world. We had a great time talking about the development of her work with skulls, crystals, neon and books. Through all of these different materials her work is concerned with the ideas of universal energy and drawing on spiritual and ancient wisdoms combined with research based science.
Five things I learned from Lauren
She had an spiritual awakening and an epiphany where she realised her true path was creative and to be an artist
She has a tattoo on remind her about the happiness that comes from creative expression and making , that she looks at anytime she is distracted from her calling especially being based in London, a city full of opportunity and distractions
She found a short course in Venice to learn the art of mosaic better and to learn under skilled craftspeople.
Her art is at the intersection of research based science and the metaphysical and spiritual
She loves travelling and prefers to take a one way ticket to let the adventures unfold at their own pace
