Young Masters Art Prize

In this episode of the podcast, Cynthia Corbett talks about the Young Masters Art Prize which is founded in 2009.

In this podcast, Cynthia explains how the prize started, how it has grown over the years and the exposure it provides for emerging artists. She goes on to discuss the exhibitions that are scheduled for this years winners later in the fall, and how the YMAP continues to exhibit outside the prize years.

Young Master Art Prize is an initiative independent of Cynthia Corbett Gallery and Cynthia discusses some of the sponsors they have on board, and the various prizes under the same banner including one for ceramics and women artists.

The prize has previously been a launch pad for many artists which Cynthia shares on this podcast, and is currently open to artists based anywhere in the world. She is keen to emphasise that Young Masters is a play on Old Masters. Young referring to living artists of any age - there is no upper age limit. And Masters refers to referencing art history in their work.

Living artists are encouraged to apply from anywhere in the world.
