Constance Eyre

Constance Eyre is a British artist based in Phuket, Thailand. Her canvases bring together textiles and paint, and she is known for her large embroidered canvases which take inspiration from the world outside the home: “The flowers that were blooming as spring began, the weather patterns, always looking for the uplifting moments to pour into my creations.”

The bold textural works often incorporate mixed media techniques using acrylic paints, pens and inks, with more tactile techniques such as traditional needlepoint embroidery, punch needle, rug hooking, weaving and macramé.

She says: “I was passionate about visible mending, teaching fashion students how to preserve items with embroidery and darning to breathe new life into pieces which would otherwise be discarded. My love of yarn has led to exploring other needlepoint techniques using different types of yarns and fabrics.”
