Lisa Thomas
Lisa Thomas is a self-taught, Atlanta- based, abstract photographer. Her current project, Studies in Oil and Water, is a macro view of the interplay between oil and water. Thomas’s distinctive style combines vibrant colours, playful compositions, and the use of light to create images that are emotionally uplifting and encourage viewers to embark on a visual journey.
She says: “In my current photographic project, Studies in Oil and Water, I explore the mesmerising interplay between these two elements. Though they do not mix, they come together to create a spectacle of colour and form. This project celebrates the beauty present in everyday life, a reminder that even the simplest interactions can reveal a universe of wonder.”
“With my lens, I capture the fleeting moments of colour, light, patterns, and texture that emerge from the interplay of oil, transforming them into abstract landscapes that defy their mundane origins.” “My photographic journey is one of experimentation. By utilising macro photography techniques, I delve into a world where colours blend and morph in unpredictable ways. Each shot unveils a unique composition, likely never to be replicated, celebrating the impermanence and serendipitous beauty of nature.”
