Neha Misra

Neha Misra is a contemporary visual folk artist, poet, and an award winning global climate justice advocate. Neha grew up in New Delhi and her soulful vibrancy is a part of her creative DNA. Now residing in America, Neha’s powerful creative reclamations of imagination are vital for building a sustainable and just future for all. Her art draws inspiration from her lived intersectional experiences as a migratory Brown woman, the diverse eco-folk art and sacred geometry traditions of her South Asian heritage, her foundational education in Physics and a deep reverence for the earth embodied in her lifelong environmental work. She shares, “My intersectional immigrant experiences as a woman of colour in America have been a catalyst for reclaiming this powerful tapestry. Combined with the influences of my global climate justice work and Physics education, my art is an inspiring symbol of new realities that we can build with the alchemy of old and new, physical and metaphysical, complex and simple. Through my art, I explore courageous re-visions of ancient myths, spiritual ecologies, and languages that are all the more relevant in contemporary times with our planet literally on fire amidst the Climate Emergency. My art envisions regenerative solutions our world needs by ‘remembering’ what has been ‘dis-membered’ within us and Mother Earth to which we belong.”
