Renee Kuharchuk
Renee Kuharchuk is an artist practising in the Chicagoland, Illinois area.
She says: “I’m very interested in personal experience. What it means to be human, to feel, to process, and to understand emotions and healing. My experiences are formed through the various lenses of femininity, lack of femininity, and coping with anxiety. In the works shown, I’m exploring the questions: ‘How are women still dealing with acts of sexism?’ ‘What is the “proper” or “right” response when confronted with sexism?’ ‘How does mental illness impede negotiating these emotions?’”
Kuharchuk is a member of the Illinois High School Art Exhibition (IHSAE) team as their Digital Gallery Assistant Director and has most recently shown her paintings at the Bridgeport Art Center in Chicago, Illinois, and the Accelerator Art Space in Elmhurst, Illinois.
