Ghia Haddad
In the studio of Dubai-based artist Ghia Haddad.
Ghia shares, ”My academic training in graphic design and art history from the University of Maryland, along with acquired skills from my work in corporate graphic design and twelve years spent leading public art projects with Dubai School communities have shaped my current work. Currently, I am enrolled in a two-year Master’s Program in Museum Studies at Leicester University.
I was included in a juried exhibit (curated by Maura Reilly), “Occupy the Moment, Intersect History with Impact” for the National Women’s Caucus for Art 50th anniversary. It ran concurrently with the 2022 national WCA conference in Chicago.
My original pieces are represented by Dubai-based online galleries Kawkab and Nasij Art. Prints of my work are featured in Missprints & Masterpieces, An Odd Tale, and Nasij Art.
Being shortlisted for the Emerging Scene Art Prize in 2020 included my work in a digital gallery on over 1,200 screens spread across key landmarks in Dubai and Abu Dhabi for 6 months.
During November 2020, I exhibited in DIFC Art Nights in the Dubai International Financial Center; a two-day art fair that joins established and emerging artists from around the world.
My work was also included in the Fall 2021 issue of All She Makes magazine and in the November 2021 issue of Art Seen magazine.
2021 also saw my work featured in two selective online exhibits; Intrinsic Nature- a curated show by the Curator’s Salon, and Changing the World, Women Role Models- a curated show by the WCA in DC.
I also participated in World Art Dubai’s 2022 art fair with a solo booth, after having been featured there through gallery representation in previous years.”
