Michael Kopplstätter was born 1966 in Austria where he currently lives and works. His artist career started at a early stage in New York, becoming close friend of the artist Salome.
In the 1980s, Salome’s group was considered a counter-movement to prevailing conceptual art scene during which they shifted to painting. Needless to say, that Michael Kopplstätter was infected by the spontaneous and expressive elements of the Neue Wilde at a young age.
In addition to solo and group shows throughout Europe, and The Arche Noah Museum Austria , which has a full collection of impressionism and expressionism with Monet, Manet, Gauguin, Renoir, Klimt, Picasso; has a contemporary room for modern paintings, showed his paintings. He was accepted for exhibition during Biennale Venice, Art Basel Miami and Art Basel Paris.
His art is featured in various collections in Swiss, Germany, USA and Austria including Sammlung BVR Burg Vital.
