She says, “I paint the world I want to see, using colors and designs to evoke universal emotions in the hearts of all people. I hope to spread the warmth of love I feel for our planet through my art. Peaceful, calm, happy - my intention is to bring joy to all who wear, use or view my creations. My work is representational. Inspired by flowers, birds, landscapes and skies, I play with color palettes and possibilities. If I see dark trees, I might paint them blue. In art, there are no limitations. Color welcomes us into magical and mysterious places, inviting us to go deeper. Fascinated by the world beyond, my childhood was spent in rural India exploring the flora and fauna that thrived on mountain paths and along rivers near my grandparents’ homes. Delicious days involved playing in the dirt, observing mother nature and interacting with her weeds and flowers. Back in the city, during family picnics, I’d wander off to interact with the huge trees, soft grasses and a nearby pond.”
Sarita appeared in the summer edition of Art Seen Magazine, Issue 12. See details here
