Hyun Jung Jung
Hyun Jung Jung is a Korean artist currently based in Portland, Oregon. She mixes various textiles techniques with ready- made and found objects to create familiar scenes that people from different backgrounds and cultures can relate and respond to.
She says: “My mixed media installations and sculptures often combine textiles that I have created myself with day-to-day objects, constructing an immersive scene that invites the viewers to build connections to my works. Woven, knitted, sewn, and interlaced pieces take on familiar shapes and forms such as clothing and upholstery, and are shown in an environment constructed with ready-made objects like desks and chairs.”
