What themes do you explore in your artwork, and how are they influenced by your life experiences?
My artwork explores themes of memory, identity, and the impact of loss as a reflection of my journey, with the lens of unique experiences and feminine perspectives. My concepts bubble up directly from my own experiences, allowing me space to reflect and explore them, maybe even gain perspective!
Which mediums do you prefer and why?
My preference is oil paint due to its smooth quality and rich colour capabilities, but my exploration through the 100 Heads project led me to discover the liberating technique of using acrylic inks, coloured pencils, and ink pens on paper, which allows me to experiment with pulling colour and texture in a way that feels freeing. The spontaneity of dropping ink creates a looseness beyond my control, forcing me to embrace the unexpected outcomes.
