Antinea Boletsi

Antinea Boletsi is a Greece-based artist who shares, “Honest observation in life is accompanied by feeling, therefore when I paint my surroundings; people, objects, nature, animals, scenes…I also feel them. I connect with them. Through my work I like to bring out what makes everyday life special, even the most careless moments, imperceptible experiences and tiniest objects.... Those feelings of natural, inspiring and childlike enthusiasm for details deriving from daily life are what inspires and shapes my art.

Wherever I am I take photographs. Photographs of the objects or scenes that I feel that I should paint, bring them in, make them part of my “art life”. The “home” of my photographs becomes my studio. Each time, I intuitively pick one of them and just start painting. In the process, experiences and feelings start mixing with the colours. Sometimes music accentuates my feelings, other times I just listen to podcasts. Time painting in my studio is where I feel most complete and connected to my inner self..

My artworks are like a diary, where I share my inner feminine space and feelings that are triggered by the outside world. In my paintings those two worlds meet, reality and fantasy, shaping my “art world”. I truly believe there are other worlds too, not just the world we see, and we can connect to them. Being an artist, I often change my perspective of the world around me; I see it in a different colour each time. This inner journey is what is portrayed in my paintings.
