Charulatha Sridhar
Charulatha Sridhar is an artist based in Chennai, India.
About her art, she says, “My portraits are mirrors of difference that aim to seize the extraordinary in the faces and figures of my models. The viewer can experience joy, calm, strength, peace and at the same time engage the ineffable mystery of being, in my painterly representations.. My work is a source of spiritual affirmation because the paintings result from a process of simultaneous discovery of the Self and the Other through the eye and the hand, dancing with the warm and the cool, figuring strokes gentle and bold that manifest through the mimetic and the symbolic!”
Charulatha has exhibited at the Lalit Kala Academy in Chennai 2017, themed watercolour works in Parvati Art Gallery in 2008, and had work selected on Artsy.com curated by 33 Contemporary.
