Ghia Haddad

Ghia Haddad is a Dubai-based artist who produces work with a global message in different mediums.

She shares, “In the unprecedented 16 months that we have experienced as a human race through the pandemic, I have learned a lot about people, although I did not see many! Mostly, I have learned that what we project as individuals and as societies -in our civilized form and within the ideals that we claim- is very different from how we will actually behave in times of global crisis. What has emerged, instead of an unquestioned concern and dedication for the public good, is a willingness to sacrifice others for our own immediate needs- both as a group and as individuals. These paintings have emerged from my experiences with people navigating the pandemic this past year and the half. They are an examination of my own intrinsic nature as an artist looking at the intrinsic nature of human beings when faced with the challenges that the pandemic has imposed on all of us.”
