Liladhar Patil

Liladhar Patil is a visual artist based in Mumbai. His earlier works mark his rigorous engagement with process of making drawings, paintings and fine relief sculptures.

Liladhar works in mixed media and says “One thing that keeps me awake is doing night landscapes. We know how Mumbai is crowded with its buildings and slums, the complexity and simplicity seen at the same time. Slums have this unexpected structure wherein they seem to be like a mountain of houses, light passes through forming shapes with darkness just beside it” He continues, “Huge buildings in background; this is what I like to paint because a crowd of forms is present and I have a vision for seeing color at night with a different perspective making its own kind of color palette. “
