Linda Chapman

Linda Chapman is an abstract photographic artist based in London. After graduating in art photography and working in theatre, music and fashion, she decided to return to her roots of fine art.

She has been part of a number of exhibitions in London and the UK, including the V&A, Barbican and the Stills gallery plus a number of features in various articles and recently in a book - Women Inspiring Quotes & Artistic Responses. She also has shown her work with Saatchiart and The Other Art Fair.

As a photographer, Chapman has always relied upon her eye rather than the computer to create the images you see. She only uses what is naturally available within the light and reflections, they are not manipulated.

About her work, Linda says, “My work is about capturing natural light when it is at its most playful and colourful by way of refraction. I am very interested in architecture and I believe that art has a great ability to change how an area can feel and and how you see it. So most of my work happens within an urban area. The very natural relationship of glass, reflections and refraction are the main elements of my work.

Glass is such a beautiful material. Urban windows offer such fascinating frames, showing a representation, giving away so much but never telling the truth. What is inside? What is outside? I seek to bring a unique perspective on city life through my lens without any filters or manipulation.”
