Melanie Schoeniger
Melanie Schoeniger is a German artist who graduated with honors in Media Design in Munich.
She shares, “Nature is my muse, my inspiration, my object of contemplation. I can soak and indulge in its beauty, its diversity, its abundance, all the colors, forms, details, all that amazing fascinating opulence, the vibrancy of life itself. And the rays behind it, the essence of eternity. With my art, I try to catch a glimpse of it. I want to touch & inspire. To share my joy & inspiration. I want to create moments of nowness & oneness. Where a feeling of connection and sublimity appears. Aestetic arrest. In short, I tend to reach for and provide transcendence, the highest need on Maslow’s hierarchy of needs, to nourish that spiritual place in your heart. And I believe deeply in the transformative power of art that touches the innermost of the beholder. One of my most important artistic influences is Ukiyo-e, japanese woodblock print art.”
“Side fact: Ukiyo-e expresses the transitory nature of life with an attitude of joie de vivre. (Which I did not know for a long time, but somehow in my unconsciousness may have resonated with me…) I work intuitively and love to add coincidence to my creation. I enjoy being in the flow and play. And learning within the process. For example: nurturing patience or embracing the unpredictable from the cyanotype process. I love to discover new technics. For me it is similar to a new pair of glasses which allows me to explore life in different way. Furthermore, I hope that this experience of deep connection with nature, this awe & wonder may cause in some cases the deep wish to protect nature and to preserve it for future generations.”
