Charlene Walker

Charlene Walker’s studio located in Sydney, Australia.

She says. “My current work is based on addressing the consequences of climate change through a metaphorical landscape. These painting are a departure from previous work in style and medium, I am now using acrylic and acrylic markers. I still love the look and fell of oil paint and will probably return to work in both mediums. I also work with contemporary watercolour. As an artist and designer, no matter the subject, I am drawn to colour and composition first. My inspiration comes from the Australian landscape, whether it’s my local urban bush river area or further afield.”

What do you love most about your studio?

Built specifically for my studio, this space looks out onto our ramshackle garden. It has an abundance of natural light and offers some peace and solitude.

It makes a huge difference to me if my studio space is comfortable, it is a really lovely space to work in. The garden is calming, and makes a good space to think and reflect, or just have a break.
