Christine Balarine

Christine Balarine studio is located in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

Cristine Balarine is an emerging Brazilian artist and architect based in Abu Dhabi. With a Master's degree in Architecture from the Bartlett, University College London, and a background in Florentine Renaissance art history, Cristine’s work seeks to rebel from the rigour and ultra-rationalization of her daily architectural practices in her large-scale abstract compositions, which are the hallmark of her dedicated art studio in Abu Dhabi. In addition to her independent visual art practice, she works as a site architect at the National Museum of the UAE by Lord Norman Foster. Cristine’s works have been selected to be exhibited in international galleries including the Florence Biennale in Italy, Jameel Art Centre in Saudi Arabia and World Art Dubai in the United Arab Emirates. Her passion for collaboration has led her to engage with musicians, merging visual art and music in immersive performances. She is currently establishing an open studio in the picturesque Aeolian Islands in Sicily where she will reside and exhibit her solo works starting in the summer.
