Gregory Evans
Gregory Evans studio is located in La Selle Craonnaise in the department Mayenne at the Gates of Brittany in France.
Gregory Evans is inspired by works of artists such as Goya, Cézanne, Schiele, Bosch, Bacon, the late Renaissance Italian Mannerists, Bosch and Bruegal the Elder and other Hollandaise, the French impressionists and the German expressionists. He is also interested in the early figurative works of Kandinsky, the raw emotion of both Combas and Crumb, the refigurative figurations of Richter and Condo, the wild revisitations of the classics of Cecily Brown, the era-specific San Francisco rock poster and underground comix artists, punk rock flyer art, surfing and skateboarding, and not to end the list with a lack of reason, Andy Warhol and Mark Rothko. Born in 1957 in Wimpole Park, Cambridgeshire, England, Gregory was raised in the wild and savage streets of the 1960s and 1970s in the beach ghetto communities of south Santa Monica and Venice in Los Angeles, participating in the hippie, punk, surfing and skateboarding revolutions of the time. He currently lives and works in the Mayenne of France. His work is owned and exhibited by private collectors in America, Holland, France, Italy, England and Scotland. The artist graduated in graphic design and found his way into the world of fine arts where he is self-taught.
